Product Description

Features: - ASENT is a comprehensive modular set of software tools that enables you to manage design tasks with ease. ASENT's tools, which are fully described in the ASENT Brochure allow engineers to turn data into useful, design-impacting information. ASENT stores all the analysis, performance, and manufacturing data for your entire company, and makes it available for use with any ASENT tool. And because you enter data once, but reuse it many times, ASENT provides a significant productivity boost for your company. As a true 32-bit application, ASENT handles large amounts of data with blazing speed. It can be installed on individual computers, or hosted on a server for network use across an entire enterprise. In the network environment, ASENT allows multiple users in geographically dispersed locations to concurrently access your company's entire R&M data. ASENT modular toolkit structure allows you to select only the modules that best meet your requirement. These include the Board Analysis Manager which leverages the pioneering work in physics of failure-based analysis. For added value, we also offer combination packages and volume discount. The modules include: ASENT works with Microsoft ® SQL Server ® WindowsNT ® and Windows 98 to provide a familiar graphical user interface, and will export reports in a variety of formats, including Microsoft Word ® Microsoft Excel ® and HTML. For added flexibility, ASENT has an open architecture and uses standard formats, which enable users to easily access data with external tools for generating custom applications or reports. What’s New in ASENT 11.5? Version 11.5 of the ASENT R&M Toolkit was just released. ASENT is an integral part of our family of world-class products, and we continually strive to make it better with each release. Input from training classes, customers, and work done on Six Sigma productivity projects, have all contributed to the latest version of ASENT. This page will briefly describe some of the new features included in the ASENT 11.5 release. With each release there are many minor enhancements that help fine tune the help files, layout of menus, user interfaces, and other aspects of the toolkit. Here, we will focus on a few of the more notable changes. FMECA Manager – The FMECA toolkit has been the focus of a wide number of enhancements. New features make it much easier to perform Testability Analysis, and report the results. The Failure Mode Criticality Matrix has been expanded to include an additional page that lists criticality values for each failure mode and a summary of their values. The Logan FTA interface is much more robust, and now allows users to leverage ASENT’s FMECA data to create multiple, complex Fault Trees in a single operation. A new set of reports have been added to allow users to document their Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analysis. These reports offer a full suite of options and allow you to specify which assemblies are included in the report by assembly type. Reliability Manager – The Mission Profiler has been expanded to allow you to include both Operational and Non-operational mission phases in a single profile. A menu item has been added to the subassembly menu, allowing users to import part lists for subassemblies in addition to boards. It has always been easy to import trees or sub-trees from existing ASENT projects, but now you have the ability to import trees or sub-trees from an Excel file. You can either add to the existing product tree or replace portions of the tree with this new feature. A new Reliability Tree Report has been added to complement the existing failure rate prediction reports. It provides a highly tailorable Excel output with much more available information. Users have always had a great deal of flexibility when it comes to thermal data. Data can either be directly entered, or associated with an existing part list by using an Excel file, or calculated by performing a thermal analysis within ASENT. In addition, the user can now quickly approximate junction temperature rises based on power dissipation and junction-to-case thermal resistance. This new feature provides a quick solution for situations where thermal analysis data is not available. Component Data Manager – Currently, users can bulk load part library data from Excel files for a variety of part types. In ASENT 11.5 we have expanded this capability to allow you to import miscellaneous parts and inductors. LSAR Interface Tool – ASENT continues to provide the most robust capability for interfacing to LSAR tools. While many tools advertise some ability to pass LSAR data, only ASENT provides a full-featured import/export capability that is quick and easy to use. Many new features have been added in this release. The focus of these enhancements has been to continue to make the interface more robust to handle wide variations in data, and to provide users with greater options and flexibility in controlling the flow of data either into or out of ASENT. Relex Translator – This tool makes it very easy for customers to transition from Relex to ASENT. Legacy data files can be quickly translated to create new ASENT projects. New options allow you to build a consolidated library of parts created through the translation of many legacy projects. Interconnected ASENT supports collaboration through an extensive set of interfaces to software toolkits for other disciplines. Examples include the SLATE ®and DOORS ®systems engineering tools, interfaces to all major CAD packages, and the EAGLE ® SLIC ®and OMEGA ®logistics tools. ASENT's interfaces provide automated data flow between tools to improve communication and productivity in a highly dynamic design environment. This enables analyses to be performed in parallel, significantly reducing design cycle time. With ASENT, the emphasis is on data sharing across tools to provide a significant productivity lift. It interfaces with LOGAN Fault & Event Tree Analysis Tool, RAC's PRISM ®and RAPTOR tools for reliability analysis. ASENT also interfaces with Giordano's Diagnostician, enabling automated database population to significantly reduce the need for user-entered data. ASENT's reporting and interface capabilities make the results from these tools readily available to other engineering disciplines. A product tree can be imported from an existing LSAR and easily passed to PRISM to perform a reliability prediction. These results are then available in ASENT's FMECA and Maintainability tools. In addition, ASENT works with Raytheon's EAGLE and AIMSS software products to provide a suite of tools that perform product supportability analysis and documentation throughout a product's lifespan. Information Reuse While other tools support data reuse by allowing the user to copy an existing project file, quickly finding the right file can often be a problem, especially when the data owner is not available: in a meeting, on vacation or a business trip, etc. ASENT, in its network configuration, solves that problem. ASENT can leverage a company's network to quickly connect with other ASENT servers anywhere in the world. Once connected, wildcard searches can easily be performed in parallel across all projects on a server - a decided advantage over the "hit or miss" serial searches provided by other tools. The customer can download the data of interest and incorporate it into a project or product. Through its extensive set of interfaces to other tools, ASENT allows access to legacy data from separate databases, such as LSARs, to rapidly build the basis for Reliability, FMECA, Maintainability and Testability analyses and manage the data within ASENT as shared data. Unlike other tools, ASENT does not burden the network, allowing Microsoft's ®powerful SQL Server ®engine to perform all the data intensive manipulation on the server, returning only the results. It is estimated that up to 70% of the analysis effort is devoted to data acquisition and re entering data into analysis tools. ASENT's wide range of interfaces coupled with its ability to provide an enterprise solution significantly reduces the effort required to perform these tasks. Reliability Manager (Failure Rate Predictions and Reliability Block Diagrams) ASENT's Reliability Manager is the cornerstone of the entire R&M CAE suite. Embedded within this toolkit are some key usability features such as the Replicate Function. The Replicate Function leverages ASENT's SQL technology to provide you with the ability to establish information relationships in the form of a Master Template and Replicated Nodes. This allows you to establish dynamic links between multiple instances of the same board. After making a change at the master node, you can then push the data to all of the replicated nodes. This feature can save time when updating heavily reused designs! Failure Rate Status flags are displayed next to each item in your system after failure rates have been calculated. These flags quickly alert a user to any potential problems. Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) Analysis ASENT RBD Analysis tool allows you to model your system, representing the probability of mission success as a function of time, discrete events (firings, launches, etc.) or both. The tool supports elements modelled in series, parallel, series-parallel combinations, and complex active or standby redundancies. Tradeoffs can be quickly performed to identify a system critical functions and reliability choke points. The resulting diagrams can be viewed on-screen or output in a variety of report formats. Armed with this information, you have an early opportunity to impact your system design. ASENT interface to RAPTOR+ reliability modelling tool provides both product tree information and failure rates. This provides a significant productivity lift for RAPTOR users. FMECA Manager ( FMECA, RCM, and Testability Analysis ) ASENT Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) toolkit reflects a newer methodology that combines the requirements of reliability and testability under one umbrella. The result is an extensible toolkit that leverages common information to help facilitate the analysis needs of several key members of the Integrated Product Team. This approach is even more beneficial to the smaller organization, where often one engineer must wear multiple hats. Again, having maximum reuse of shared data within the same toolkit greatly expands the engineer analysis domain. ASENT FMECA toolkit supports functional, hardware, or combined FMECAs. Our methodology allows you to perform top-down or bottomup FMECAs. Assemblies, parts, and signals can be modeled, along with the related failure modes and effects. The relationship between failure modes and effects and the tree structure are tracked automatically by the toolkit so that updates can easily be made at any time. After the updates have been completed, failure mode ratios and criticality numbers can be recalculated and new reports generated with the simple tap of a key. Since the FMECA process can be quite a documentation effort, ASENT뭩 Completeness Checker helps to assess your FMECA status at a moment뭩 notice and identify any missing links뻕nother great time saver! RCM Analysis ASENT Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) tool automates the analysis process laid out in both Mil-Std-2173(AS) and UK MoD MSG-3. The built-in logic tree guides the user through a series of questions to determine whether an item is a Structurally Significant Item (SSI), Functionally Significant Item (FSI), or a Non-Critical Item (NCI). The analysis leverages off of existing FMECA data. Based on user responses, a preventive maintenance analysis is done to determine if there is some type of task that will reduce or prevent the consequences of a failure. Testability Analysis The testability portion of the FMECA tool allows the user to leverage FMECA data and enter detection/isolation information for select failure modes. This feature can define detection/isolation groups and create and maintain a user-friendly test code library. The tool will calculate fault detection and fault isolation and generate reports that quickly verify whether the current test coverage is sufficient to meet customer requirements. Maintainability Manager Our Maintainability Manager toolkit has been optimized to reduce manual data entry and help you efficiently manage the maintainability analysis process. The Maintainability Manager helps you leverage the product tree structure and reliability data to the maximum extent possible. When you combine this information with customizable Task Libraries, you get a powerful combination of maintenance planning capabilities. The tool calculates availability, mean time to repair, maximum corrective maintenance time, and includes a powerful What-if? mode that instantly models the impact of various design and maintenance tradeoffs in real time. Board Manager - Thermal Analysis ASENT Board Manager toolkit leverages the pioneering work in physics of failure-based analysis. These tools can help you proactively impact your board design early in the design cycle. ASENT allows you to start with general board-level design information, then trade off various constraints such as materials, packaging, and part placement for reliability sensitivity. Five different cooling methods are supported by ASENT Thermal Analysis tool. As your board design matures, more detailed data can be leveraged, helping you calculate and assess parameters such as junction and case temperatures. Significant cycle time savings can be achieved since ASENT will automatically reuse applicable data in related analyses. The failure rate prediction tool can make use of thermal results from either ASENT thermal tool or other thermal analysis tools.
