Product Description

ACP manufactures both unidirectional and woven fiber laminated sheets of carbon or fiberglass fibers cured with heat and pressure in an epoxy base. Laminates in widths from 1/4" through 1" have been Water Jet Cut to offer a smooth edge and a dimensionally accurate laminate. The unidirectional carbon fiber laminates are used to add stiffness to almost any material (ie fiberglass, foam, and balsawood). In all the unidirectional, laminates the fibers are oriented parallel to the length of each strip.

To achieve maximun stiffness each strip should be installed with proper fiber orientation. For example, to reinforce a wing, the laminates should be placed lengthwise from root to tip on the top and bottom of the wing. Typical carbon fiber laminates have the following properties:
Tensile Strength 390 ksi
Tensile Modulus 25 msi
Flexural Strength 272 ksi
Flexural Modulus 22.5 msi
