In coordination with national projects system-on-chip, telecommunication, and e-Learning, ITRI’s Information and Communication research are concentrated on the development of IT-enabled Services (ITeS), and focus on core technologies with innovation and integration. The major objectives of Information and Communication research include development of wireless multimedia system-on-chip technology, establishment of All-IP telecommunication application service and key technology, and early preparation of 4G Essential IP issues. Meanwhile, the development of wireless sensor network technology applications and e-Mobile services are steadily making progress such that users can soon benefit and enjoy the convenience of wireless digital life. By combining Taiwan’s unique competitive edge in portable device manufacturing and IC design, with advantages in Wireless Taipei City and M-Taiwan, ITRI’s Information and Communication technology research will strengthen domestic industrial value chain and competitiveness of Taiwan’s chip sets, components, systems, applications, services, and further develop the service and manufacturing industries in Taiwan.
