Infrared images of extremely high 640 x 480 pixels resolution—optionally even up to 1.2 megapixels resolution—is what the new thermographic camera module IR-TCM 640 from JENOPTIK Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH gives you.
Against other microbolometer camera models of uncooled type that solely relied on low-resolution detectors of 160x120 and 320x240 pixel capacity for commercial use in recent years, Jenoptik’s IR-TCM 640 introduces a new era in IR camera technology. It’s the IR-TCM 640’s high-resolution infrared images with excellent clarity of detail that are setting the standards in infrared imaging quality now: the camera module’s image resolution is virtually on a level with that of digital photographs. Blurred thermographs with a perceivable pixel structure are a matter of the past.
A microbolometer camera module for operation in the 7.5 to 14 µm spectral range, it features a very light and compact design shape and an exceptionally long useful life, compared against conventional camera models with cooling. Various standard interfaces are available for easy integration with OEM applications.
Handling frame rates up to 60 Hz with 640x480-pixel image resolution, the IR-TCM 640 records even sequences with a maximum in detail in realtime mode to output these to an external image processing system.
In line with its designated nature as an OEM integration tool, the new camera module provides a multiplicity of application options. These range from various types of thermal inspection systems and machine vision environments to property monitoring, aerial photography and security purposes, including integration in space technology systems and military equipment.
