ETP

Dear all
Catch my voice first. This is Resard_joan join in a new topics. I hope yr participation in the new group.
In environmental engineering ETP is most commonly uttered word.

Would help me through reply about ETP principle.

Re: ETP

Hi resard_joan, congrts for joining our group. Especial thanks to you that you chose a new topic. I have little knowledge about ETP.
I know ETP means Effluent Treatment Plant. It means the effluent dicharged from fectory need to treatment so that it can do minimum hurm of environment. The process of doing this is called ETP.
I eager other comment about it from my dear friends.

Thanks all.

Re: ETP

We use ETP in our plant.I am working in sanofi aventis.

ETP has three parts :

a)    Balance Tank
b)    Rotating Biological Contactor
c)    Final Settlement Tank

Descriptions are as follows:

a)    Balance Tank

The polluted waste water streams gravitate to an in-ground tank. Balancing is achieved by storage and controlled forward flow.

The forward feed to the biological reactor are transferred by pump.
Essential nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus are required to optimize biological efficiency. If analysis shows that the effluent needs these elements, these can be injected.

b)    Rotating Biological Contactor

The pumped forward feed of waste water from the balancing tank are discharged to a tank housing a rotating biological arrangement of media discs supported and secured by a structural steel framework to a horizontal shaft. The rotation of the shaft moves the discs through the wastewater, approximately 40% of the media area being immersed.

A growth of biomass is developed on the surface of the discs with impurities being adsorbed and adsorbed into contact with atmospheric air/oxygen and maintains, together with natural agitation caused by disc motion, the system in an aerobic condition.

c)    Final Settlement Tank

The overflow from the Contactor tank gravitates to the Final settlement Tank.
Solids suspended in the feed to the tank settle into the tank to form  sludge. This sludge is discharged  via suitable pipe work and valving to the site’s existing septic tank.
